I still remember back in 1996 if i am not mistaken, i have entered the karaoke contest organized by my 'ex company' and i have sang this song together with my friend, Julie. Kelakar siotttttt.... menyanyi entah apa-apa tah, tapi dapat no 2 beb!!

I was a teenager when this song first on the radio (sekarang pun remaja jugak! muahahahahaha). The lyrics are full with metaphorically words. First time when i look at the title, i was definitely guessed that the song is about a woman who was dumped by a man...but i was very sadly mistake.

I obviously did not grow up hearing The Carpenters music on the radio actually. I was first listened to their songs when i was around 16 or 17. That time i was not exposed to their music directly. When i was watching the movie - So Close last 2 years, i was touched by the angelically beautiful voice of Close To You as one of the soundtrack in the movie. Only then i started to listen back all their songs. Close To You is one of my favourite.

There's a not so nice experience happened to me when this song hit the year 1998. Let me just keep it as a top secret. Ini la lagu yang paling i suka dari kumpulan gadis berempah ni! I think this is the best song that the group churned out. I love the melody and the melancholy feel of the song, especially the stunning piano ballad intro.

Actually i am the biggest fan of The Beatles. I love their songs especially Yesterday. I like the melody of this song, because it can take you far away, i mean the melody can lullaby you when you feel tenseness. Imagine that you are in your bedroom with lights on vaguely, you just close your eyes, turn on the Yesterday, slow down the volume and i bet you will definitely feel like you are totally ease from the pain and relieve from the burdensome.

I love his voice so much. Very manly. He will be in Malaysia on June 23. I have heard this probably his last tour. It's so sad when the LEGEND wants to retire. But the ticket price...mmmm....wow! I think i better forget it!!!
